Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church
About the Pastor

mattholst.jpg The session of Geneva OPC is happy to announce the arrival of the congregation’s new pastor, Mr. Matthew Holst. Our congregation rejoices at the completion of the visa issuance process, enabling Mr. Holst to come to the United States and begin his ministry to us of Word and Sacrament.

Mr. Holst, a native of Wales and a British citizen, graduated in January 2009 from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in South Carolina. In December 2009, he completed his pastoral internship at Cambridge Presbyterian Church in Cambridge, England.

After Mr. Holst candidated at Geneva OPC in June 2009, the congregation voted unanimously in July 2009 to issue a call to Mr. Holst to be Geneva’s new pastor. That call was given to Mr. Holst following his examination and vote of approval in August 2009 by the Presbytery of the Southeast of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Mr. Holst will be ordained as a minister in the OPC on March 6, 2009.

Matthew is married to Stacy, a native of Greenville, South Carolina. The Holsts have a son, Garin.

A recent article by Mr. Holst can be found in the Publication Section.
