| Becoming a Christian |
|
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3.16). The Bible teaches that a Christian is any individual who first recognizes himself to be a guilty sinner before a just and holy God, repents of his sin, believes on Jesus Christ, and trusts in him alone as Savior and Lord. Though we sin daily against God, fall short of his glory, and deserve his eternal justice, the Christian receives God's love and forgiveness by trusting in Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life as the Son of God and died on the cross to take the punishment his people deserved. We urge you to make the question of your eternal welfare your most important lifelong business and pray that you seek Christ by faith alone, repent of your sin, and trust not in yourself and what you think you can do, but in Christ and what he has done. The Bible teaches that those who sincerely believe on Jesus Christ shall not perish, but have everlasting life. |
